Educational Docks
The new system we have acquired from Chicago Pontoon Parts LLC opened up new learning opportunities for our students. The decking is heavy duty and smooth. The three-pontoon system they designed for us makes the floating deck level and very stable. Even with several high school students on the deck at once the system stays level in the water. The railing system makes it safe to bring elementary students out on the water. They even thought to match the railing colors to our school colors. Since the pontoon system rides higher in the water, it is more difficult for geese and ducks to rest on the floating deck.
The pontoon floating deck has increased the number of students we can safely get close to the water. Our first group to use the deck was our Tuesday Open Fishing Day Group. We can get more students on the deck now and our only limitation is keeping them separated so they can safely cast their fishing lines. In the spring when we host Earth Day activities for third graders we will now be able to include more lessons on the aquatic environment.
We are very grateful to have this high quality pontoon deck system, which has provided more learning opportunities for our students than we ever thought possible.

I was searching for a 115hp motor for upgrading our pontoon and Chicago Pontoons had an ad for the right price. After calling and discussing the history, I decided to take a little trip and pick it up if it looked ok. Vernon had his mechanic Mike get the compressions, which all looked great! And the motor was immaculate! We had discussed putting it in the lake to start up, but the winds had picked up and would be a pain. So, we hooked up water and fuel (the motor had not be run in about a year) and the second try it started right up! We worked to disconnect everything and managed to get it on a pallet in my truck, strapped it down and I was on my way.
I am very happy to get this motor and can't wait to get it on my pontoon and in the lake! Big thanks to Vernon and Mike!
